From October 2–3, 2025, the 24th Tribo Pprime Workshop took place at the Institut Pprime on the Futuroscope Campus in Poitiers. This year’s event focused on “Bearings operating with non-conventional lubricants” and brought together researchers from both industry and academia.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Max Marian delivered this year’s keynote lecture entitled “Reimagining Wind Turbine Lubrication: From Life-Extended Oils to Bio-Based Greases.” His talk highlighted new approaches to the development of sustainable lubricants and their impact on the lifetime and energy efficiency of tribological systems in wind turbines.
The workshop provided an excellent platform for international exchange on forward-looking topics in tribology and underscored the growing importance of bio-based lubricants for a sustainable energy transition.
