Presented test rig for S-Ray project

On June 2, 2025, the IMKT hosted the first project meeting of the S-Ray project, which was launched in fall of last year. During the meeting, there was a lively exchange between the project partners and the current progress of the project was topic of various presentations. This enabled fruitful discussions for further implementations in the project.

The S-Ray project is investigating current passage phenomena in wind turbine gearboxes. The aim is to build an electric equivalent model of such a gearbox and to gain new insights into possible damages to the machine elements as a result of electrical stress. In addition, extensive experimental investigations are planned in the project, which is being carried out together with several partners from industry and RWTH Aachen University.

After the presentations, the project partners were given a guided tour of the IMKT premises and, in particular, the test field, and the event ended with a joint dinner.
