On September 17, Muyuan Liu successfully completed his doctorate at the IMKT. In his dissertation entitled “The influence of oscillating motion on grease lubrication performance in ball bearings”, he addressed the fundamental question of how oscillating movements affect the lubrication behavior of rolling bearings. His work provided important insights into the boundary conditions of grease lubrication, as well as the influence of oscillation angle, frequency, and cage geometry on the friction and wear behavior of oscillating bearings.
Muyuan defended his dissertation with the result “very good.” Our special thanks go to the examination committee, consisting of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Marc Wurz as chair, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gerhard Poll as doctoral supervisor, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Norbert Bader as second examiner.
The entire IMKT team warmly congratulates Muyuan Liu on this outstanding achievement, is proud of his success, and wishes him all the best and continued success in his professional and personal future.
